About Tunnelwell

It all started with an idea…

Tunnelwell® founder Michael Wynne is a hydraulic engineer and plumber of 40+ yrs experience. As a designer and installer of stormwater storage systems he was continually frustrated by the lack of robust products available in the market which would meet the long-term performance lifecycle that infrastructure owners have every right to expect. So, he decided to do something about it.

Tunnelwell® is the result; a unique concept for infiltration of rainwater runoff or effluent disposal into the natural soil with efficient long-term performance.

Michael Wynne conceived the technology in June 2009. Patents were lodged and the technology was then proven theoretically and in 2012 design configurations evolved. The prototypes were made in 2015 and physical testing was completed in early 2016.
